Turtles are often hanging out farther away than I can reasonably shoot, but every so often I come across one on a trail or near the shore that is willing to model for me.
Notice the dust on the shell. You have to wonder how long he's been out of the water.
Frogs can be pretty timid, and you only notice them once they've hopped away. I have had a few frogs that are okay with my presence. It takes patience, but you get some pretty great shots.
Notice the detail in the eye. He's posed like he knew he was on display.
Tiny frogs near the Mississippi River in St Paul. I settled down along a creek and let the frogs get used to my presence before starting the shoot. The rock in the mouth is so funny - I never had thought of the consequences of a misaimed tongue!
